How to Measure Your Space for Wallpaper (Without the Guesswork!)
So, you’ve found the wallpaper design that’s going to take your space from “meh” to amazing—but now you’re wondering, “How much do I actually need?” Don’t worry, we’ve got you! Measuring for wallpaper is easier than you think, and we’re breaking it all down for you step by step.
Oh, and did we mention? Each wallpaper panel is custom printed just for you! Our panels are 24" wide and printed to the exact height you need—so no awkward seams or pattern mismatches. 🙌
💡 IMPORTANT: Make sure you measure twice and order all of your panels at once! If you order more panels later, they could be printed on a different material lot, and colors may vary slightly. We don’t want that to happen!

✨ General Measuring Tips ✨
✔️ Always measure in inches (our calculator loves inches).
✔️ Measure twice to make sure you get it right!
✔️ Add an extra 4" to both the width & height to allow for trimming (no wall is perfectly straight, trust us!).
✔️ Order all panels at the same time to ensure a perfect color match.
✔️ Use our handy wallpaper calculator—every wallpaper listing has a "Wallpaper Calculator" button! Just pop in your measurements, and it will tell you exactly how many panels you need.
Measuring for an Accent Wall
Accent walls are a great way to make a statement without going full-on wallpaper paradise. Here’s what to do:
1️⃣ Measure the width of your wall from left to right.
2️⃣ Measure the height from floor to ceiling.
3️⃣ Add 4" to both the width and height for trimming room.
4️⃣ Enter your measurements into our wallpaper calculator—it’ll tell you how many 24" wide panels you need!
💡 Example: If your accent wall is 120" wide by 96" tall, you’ll enter 124" x 100" to account for trimming.
Measuring for a Full Room
Want to cover all the walls? We love a bold move! Here’s how to measure:
1️⃣ Measure the width of each wall individually and add them all together.
2️⃣ Measure the height from floor to ceiling.
3️⃣ Add 4" to both the total width and height for trimming.
4️⃣ Enter your total width & height into our wallpaper calculator!
💡 Example: If your four walls add up to 400" wide and your ceiling height is 96", you’ll enter 404" x 100" into the calculator.
🛑 Don't forget! Order all of your panels at once to avoid slight color variations between different printing batches!
Measuring for a Partial Wall (Like Board & Batten)
If your wallpaper will only cover the top half of the wall (like above board and batten or wainscoting), here’s what to do:
1️⃣ Measure the width of the wall (same as before!).
2️⃣ Measure from the top of the trim to the ceiling—that’s your new height.
3️⃣ Add 4" to both the width and height for trimming.
4️⃣ Enter your measurements into the wallpaper calculator.
💡 Example: If your wall is 120" wide and the height above the board & batten is 48", you’ll enter 124" x 52" into the calculator.
Measuring for Sloped Walls (Attics, Stairways, Under-the-Stairs Nooks)
Sloped walls? No problem! Here’s what to do:
1️⃣ Measure the width of the space (just like before).
2️⃣ Measure the highest point of the slope every 24" to determine what panel length you’ll need for each section.
3️⃣ Add 4" to the width and height for trimming.
4️⃣ Enter your measurements into our wallpaper calculator.
5️⃣ After you order, send us a message letting us know it’s a sloped wall so we can adjust the print so the pattern matches at the bottom instead of the top!
💡 Example: If you're wallpapering a stairway wall and the highest point varies, your panels may all need different heights—but don't stress, we’ll make sure it prints perfectly!
🛑 Heads up! Since sloped walls require precise printing adjustments, make sure to order all of your panels at the same time so they match perfectly!
